A hoarding mimic is a species of mimic that's obsessed with "things" shiny, old and rusty, or just plain boring a hoarding mimic wants it all, this specific hoarding mimic is an evolved version of the hoarding mimic species, called a shadow merchant, and often more than not a hoarding mimic will take the form of a humanoid figure to attract it's food.

the food in question being wealthy unsuspecting travelers who have alot of "things". if you are not a wealthy customer and are trading with anything but money the shadow merchant well regard you as just a customer and not food and will naturally trade with you.
